History

The GroundsCare story began in 1968 when the company was a retail sales and service centre trading as Tom Walker Chainsaw and Mower Specialists. In 1982 the company accepted the NZ distribution of premium Lawn & Garden equipment representing Textron initially and in later years John Deere Consumer products.

The sale of the distribution business led to the creation of GroundsCare in 2002. "We were looking for an opportunity to develop the latest European trend in outdoor power equipment retailing and product support," says Steve.

In conjunction with Husqvarna, a model store was developed to suit New Zealand based on successful retail ventures operating in Sweden.
